Porquê (O rei do amor morreu)

Nina Simone, cantora, pianista e compositora bem conhecida, foi militante anti-apartheid, e escreveu esta canção depois do assassinato de Luther King. Ela que desconfiava nos anos 60 da estratégia de "não-violência" na luta pelos direitos civis dos negros norte-americanos (com Malcom X), homenageia aqui aquele que defendeu sempre que se devia "dar a outra face".

Prison song

Outra canção da prisão, esta do compositor alemão Hans Werner Henze. Escrita em 1971 e inspirada no diário da prisão de Ho Chi Min.
Henze é um caso aparte. É considerado um dos mais importantes compositores alemães do século XX. É vivo ainda - tem 84 anos.

System of a Down (SOAD) foi uma banda de metal armeno-americana formada em Glendale, Califórnia em 1994. É composta por Serj Tankian (vocais, teclados), Daron Malakian (guitarra, vocais), Shavo Odadjian (baixo) e John Dolmayan (bateria).
O percurso interropeu-se em 2006.
Esta "Prison song", denúncia do sistema prisional americano, é do álbum Toxicity, de 2001, altura em que a banda atinge grande sucesso.

Only a pawn in their game

Medgar Evers, combatente anti-apartheid americano, foi morto em 1963 por um membro do Klu Klux Klan. O assassino foi escandalosamente libertado em 1964 depois de 2 sucessivos julgamentos-farsa. Bob Dylan fez nesse ano esta música, da mesma altura de "The times they are a'changing", como se percebe até pela melodia, com óbvias semelhanças. O assassino foi finalmente condenado, mas só 30 anos depois, em 1994, depois de uma reabertura do processo com base em novas provas. Enfim, um pouco de justiça.

Dans nos histoires (nas nossas histórias)

Casey é "rappeuse". Trabalha regularmente com Anfalsh e La Rumeur, dois dos grupos mais importantes do rap francês dos últimos anos. Ela faz parte também do projecto Zone Libre que cruza rock e o hiphop de forma bastante incomum. É francesa, filha de uma família de emigrantes da Martinica. Neste tema de 2006, Casey (Cathy Palenne) põe em relação a actualidade social e política com o passado esclavagista e colonialista. As imagens ajudam à violenta denúncia e põem o presente (uma menina) a ler o passado (um livro).

Megafone

Megafone vem do grego: megas, "grande" e fone, "voz". É um aparelho em forma de cone utilizado para amplificar sons. A sua principal qualidade é não necessitar de um sistema de som completo com microfone ou altifalante. Para além disso é portátil.

Muitas vezes, os megafones são utilizados em manifestações, eventos desportivos, anúncios, etc. Nos filmes, aparecem muitas vezes nas mãos de polícias ou bombeiros que necessitam de comunicar com alguém à distância.

A maioria dos megafones actuais são elétricos, com um pequeno amplificador alimentado por uma bateria.
