Canção da resistência grega

A resistência grega armada ao fascismo começou em 28 de Outubro de 1940 com um "não" ("Ohi") à rendição a Mussolini por parte do primeiro-ministro da época. Entretanto cria-se o E.L.A.S. (exército popular de libertação da Grécia), ligado ao Partido Comunista Grego. Seguiu-se uma dura guerra contra a Itália e contra a invasão alemã (a partir de 1941 e até à libertação em 1945). Segue-se uma guerra civil (1946-49) entre o governo oficial (apoiado pelos EUA e o Reino Unido) e o partido comunista (exército Democrático da Grécia, apoiado pela Jugoslávia, Bulgária e Albênia). A guerra fria a começar bem quente na Grécia. Feridas grandes no povo grego, até décadas depois.
